These are gifts for her: posted to the door, so she does not have to be dressed or downstairs to take delivery, and dated for whenever suits rather than the day the news broke.
Getting it right
Send it to her name, not the baby's. Write the card to her. And if you are not sure whether the first fortnight is the right time, it usually is not — week three, when the visitors have thinned out and nobody is bringing anything any more, lands harder.
If she is feeding at all hours, cookies and brownies win because they can be eaten with one hand. If someone else is doing the cooking and you want to give the pair of them an afternoon, the Luxury Afternoon Tea is the one that makes them sit down.
Getting it there on the right day
Everything is baked to order in our West Midlands bakery, then sent on DPD's tracked next-day service with a one-hour window on the morning of delivery. Order before 12 noon, Monday to Friday, and it can go the same day. If the gift is for a date rather than today, pick that date at checkout — you can choose any day up to six months ahead, and Monday is a landing day, so a Friday order does not have to sit over the weekend.
Add a gift card at checkout and we print your message on it and tuck it under the lid. There is never an invoice in the parcel, so nobody opens their gift and reads the price.
Keeping and allergens
Brownies keep up to two weeks from baking and freeze for three months, which matters when the days run together. Cookies are best in the first few days; cupcakes within three to five. Everything is baked in a kitchen that also handles nuts, gluten, milk, eggs and soya, and the vegan brownies are baked to a separate recipe without dairy or eggs.

How does next-day delivery work?
Order before 12 noon and we bake and post the same day on DPD next-day tracked delivery. On each box you can pick the day you want it to land, up to six months ahead.
Can I add a gift card with a message?
Yes. Tick Add a gift card on the box page, type your message (up to 175 characters) and we print it on a Chummys gift card tucked inside the box. Nothing in the parcel mentions the price.
How long do they keep?
Our brownies are baked fresh to order, and they’ll stay deliciously fudgy for up to 10-14 days. To keep them at their best, store the brownies in an airtight container in a cool, dry spot – this maintains that gooey texture. If you want to enjoy them over a longer period, you can freeze the brownies for up to 3 months. Just wrap them tightly or keep them in the supplied packaging and pop them in the freezer. When you’re ready to indulge, thaw at room temperature or give a quick 10-second microwave zap to recreate that oven-fresh warmth!
What allergens or dietary considerations should I know?
Our bakes contain nuts, peanuts, gluten, eggs, milk and soya, and some contain preservative (sodium metabisulphite), sulphur dioxide and sulphites. E numbers are present in some bakes too. Flavours like Snickers (peanuts) and Ferrero Rocher (hazelnuts) carry nuts by design.
Everything is made in one kitchen where nuts, peanuts, eggs, milk, soya, sesame, gluten and other dairy are all in use, and some ingredients come from factories that handle peanuts and nuts, so we cannot guarantee any box is free from traces. If you, or the person you are sending to, is allergic to any of the above, we would honestly recommend not ordering.
All of our bakes are suitable for vegetarians and contain no alcohol. They are not vegan — for that there is our Vegan box.
