Gift cards, answered.

What people ask us about the gift card. Anything else, help@chummysbakery.co.uk answers within the day.

How does the gift card reach them?

By email, not by post. Tick send as a gift above and you can put in their email address, their name and a message, and pick the day it should land. We email it to them on that day with your message. Leave the box unticked and the card comes to you instead, so you can forward it or print it and hand it over yourself.

Can I choose the day it arrives?

Yes. When you tick send as a gift there is a date field — pick the birthday, the last day of term, the morning they move in. Leave it blank and it goes straight away. There is no cut-off and no courier involved, so a gift card is the one thing you can still sort out at eleven o'clock the night before.

What can they spend it on?

Anything we bake — brownies, cookies, blondies, bronuts, cupcakes, the selection boxes or the afternoon tea box — and it covers the delivery charge too. They enter the code at checkout and it comes off the total. If they spend less than the card is worth, the rest stays on it for next time. If they spend more, they just pay the difference.

Does it expire?

No. A gift card bought here has no expiry date on it, and nothing is taken off it for sitting unused — whatever is left stays on it until they spend it.

Would a box be better than a card?

Often, yes. A gift card is the right answer when you genuinely do not know what they like, or when you have left it late. If you do know, a box turning up on a chosen morning lands harder than a code in an inbox — and you can have your message printed on a card and tucked under the lid.
